“Behai Park 北海公园” was painted on location, plein air, as people came and went. Behai Park is a famous park in Beijing. The two girls in the image are wearing Hanfu and manchu inspired headpieces. They sat in front of me as I began drawing them, and then 2 minutes later suddenly left before I could finish. Fortunately there were many similarly dressed girls walking around. It is a common practice in China to dress up and go get photos taken at a park.
The original piece uses red pencil, Watercolour and ink pen on 300gsm cotton paper.
Each piece of art comes unframed protected in an envelope, hand signed and dated before being sent. Each print will also be numbered 1 to 20, only 20 prints will be sold for each artwork.
