“Kaifeng 开封” was painted on location until I got too hot and had to move. It was 37°C that day in Kaifeng. I went to Millennium City Park—a recreation of a Ming dynasty town—expecting it to be a scenic spot. I anticipated crowds, but I didn’t realise it was a historical cultural theme park with live shows everywhere, including a marine battle with real cannon blasts and people suspended in the air having sword fights. It was a great spectacle, but not so suitable for art.
Kaifeng itself is an interesting place—a city in Henan, it has been the capital of eight ancient dynasties.
Each artwork will be signed dated and sent in a secure envelope.
Each print will also be signed and numbered.
