CHINA COLLECTION #11
“Olympic Park 奥林匹克公园” was painted on location. This piece began on an uninspired note but ended as something I’m proud of. I couldn’t find a place to settle, so eventually my friends chose a spot and I decided to make it work. I'm glad I did.
I had originally planned to add a yellow kayak, but with such a wide, horizontal composition, I chose instead to include a father and son fishing for tadpoles as a vertical focal point.
Olympic Park in Beijing is a vast, man-made space built for the 2008 Olympic Games. When we visited in early spring, it was full of people admiring the new blossoms. This was a novel sight for me as a Kiwi, where spring doesn’t quite carry the same cultural weight (or variety of flowers).
Each artwork will be signed dated and sent in a secure envelope.
Each print will also be signed and numbered.
Materials and Dimensions:
Original: 180x260mm , 300gsm Cotton Watercolour Paper framed in basic white frame.
Print: B5, quality paper: Hahnemule German Etch 310gsm
