Painted on Location.
Home to the historic Maranui Surf Life Saving Club and the beloved Maranui Café, this Lyall Bay landmark is woven into the heart of Wellington. When I began interviewing Wellingtonians about their favourite places in the city, the very first answer I received was “the Maranui.” For him, it held a special place in his heart — and for me too. Having spent time there both as a coffee and Avocado enjoyer and even as a worker, I knew it deserved pride of place as the first artwork in my Wellington series.
While Te Papa represents New Zealand, the Cable Car represents tourist Wellington, and Cuba street alternative wellington, I believe the Maranui represents Wellington most fully: a quirky café by the sea.
Each artwork will be signed dated and sent in a secure envelope. Each print will also be numbered 1 to 20, only 20 prints will be sold for each artwork.
Original: 300gsm Cotton Watercolour Paper
310×210mm / 12.2”x8.3”
Print: 250gsm card
297×210mm
